NJBA Spring Speed Shootout

  • Race overview from the chief

Just a few thoughts on the race weekend at Lake Ming…… fun fun fun!!! I to would like to say a thank you also…. to our driver!!! to say Garrett did a good job would be a understatement!!!! The kid killed it all weekend…. 6 laps in s/e… r/t of 0.05 0.08 0.08 0.02 0.07 went red in the final -0.06 s/e was like the zombie apocalypse they were rising from the dead… 1st round losers were allowed to buy back in…. with such good competition its hard enough to just kill them once!!! 0.05 light in the 1st round of the 9.00 should have won the round…. but your crew chief was a pile!!! Guy gave you a breakout boat 8.97…. that guy will be lucky if he keeps his job!!! Great job Garrett…. congrats to all the winners, and thanks to the Ralls and Rouschers for the hospitality… had a great time pitting with you guys.

Gary

  • Thank you to my crew.

I would like to say thanks to my crew from this weekend. My dad Gary, Dathan, Elliot, and Cheyne. Without you guys this would not have been possible. Thanks for all your hard work. I would also like to thank my wife Kristi, my mom Nancy, and my 2 kids Zack and Marin for all their support.
I had the time of my life this weekend. I got to see some old friends and made some new ones. I’m so blessed to have the friends and family that I do. Thank all of you that helped make this dream of drag boat racing come true. Looking forward to the Lucas Oil race at Lake Irvine May 3-5.

We lost round 1 of the 9.0 bracket to Josh Patridge and his 039 boat. It’s always a close race with Josh, but we definitely owe him a couple…

DSC07416Gary has officially started his day, coffee in hand. Garrett was the first up this morning and prepped the Trophy Wife. We are very happy with yesterdays outcome and hope to bring this home. Super Eliminator was just called. We are turning oil and about to warm up the boat.

  • Drivers Meeting

Tomorrow morning we will run Super Eliminator for our 1st round. We will be facing Josh Patridge and his 18ft California Performance 039 boat in the first round of 9.0. This race will be won or lost on the light.

  • Round 1 Super Eliminator

DSC07385Garrett Breistig, Trophy Wife, and Those Guys Racing take the first round of Super Eliminator. Paired up against Andy Ralls, of Ralls Performance Marine, in his beautiful new custom Cheyenne.

This was a rematch of round 1 ADBA, Parker AZ. The result was the same. We would like to congratulate Andy for giving us a great race.

Tomorrow is Sunday. This is what we live for. Stay tuned for our updates.

  • Good morning from Lake Ming.

DSC07340Garrett is at the drivers meeting.

  • Stasis

mediasunset
We have ten cameras ready to roll. After watching the sunset and feasting on a classic American meal, heavy on the classic, we are working on a plan to capture the event. Our boat is ready, our driver is ready.

  • Locked and Loaded

Those guys are at the track. Good attitudes are still in tact. We fired the boat and adjusted the idle, weighed the nitrous bottles and cracked a couple cans for ourselves.

  • Still working

20130419-174822.jpgGary Breistig and Cheyne Burris are at the track setting up the pits. Garrett, Dathan and Elliot will be leaving Orange County soon after noon with a bunch of good attitudes, our new hats and a plan. First and foremost, we go to the races to win. We want to bring home the trophy without compromising driver safety. Beyond that we are excited to run the boat in multiple classes for a fast paced weekend. The track time will be good for our driver and the crew as this new engine has only been ran at one event. We took the trophy there. This is, “An official Those Guys Racing heater.” We’re going to give it everything we’ve got.
